Check out this Crux video premiere. All this footage is of the final prototype Cruxes that we paddled throughout the summer and fall of 2004. We'll keep posting new stuff as we proceed through the year.
Most of this footage is of Chris Gragtmans in North Carolina, mainly on the Green and the Cullasaja and of Braden Fandrich in British Columbia, mainly on the North Stein and Stein Rivers. All the blue Crux shots are of Braden. It is important to note that in these shots Braden was carrying a fully loaded boat weighing 80-90 lbs. He was on a four day river trip so he was packed for expedition. You'll note how particularly well the boat handles for him, even loaded down that heavy. Impressive for a 7'7" boat.
There are a couple other shots of Chris Schell, who is a good buddy of Gragtmans, on the Cullasaja and one shot of myself at Big Creek in Tennessee.
Also note that all of us paddling the boat are within the recommended weight range for the boat, between 130-170 lbs. If you fall in that range and are looking for a new creeker you should definitely try out the Crux.

new January '05 Orbit Fish video

This is a two minute, edited piece of Orbit Fish footage that Chris and I collected so far this month. Enjoy. Is kind of a large file, 10mb, but loads very quickly, especially if you're using Safari on a Mac.
The Rock Island Footage is of Chris from flood stage in the rapid below the normal play hole.
The rest is on the Nolichucky Gorge at 4000 cfs at a hole below On The Rocks rapid and at Jaws.
You can see in the footage how fast the boat is rail to rail. Lots of hull speed for a 6'6" boat, and definitely Necky's most high performance player. The sharp edges take a bit of getting used to but it is sweet when you start getting it down. Reminds me a lot of the Riot Glide how it will spank you when you screw up but reward you greatly when you do the move right.
Enjoy. I'm going to be posting a Crux video soon, so come back for that.
